Most beauty queens favor styles with long, loose curls. These styles soften facial features and are the secret to looking more graceful and feminine.
Want to get pageant hair? Just add volume to your hair using “a little moisturizing mousse and a large barrel curling iron,” says licensed cosmetologist Rebecca Wiseman. “Work with larger chunks of hair rather than thin sections and do not brush after the hair is curled.”
Clean skin means glowing skin
Having healthy, glowing skin makes you look fresh and youthful. And it’s the dewey, radiant skin that gets noticed.
It starts with a clean face. This means removing your makeup each night before bed.
One way to make this task easier is to use coconut oil, says Ashley Bendiksen, Miss New Bedford 2009. “Massage it all over your face, and all over your closed eyes — dry, no water, just the straight coconut oil — and then wipe it off with baby wipes,” she suggests. Consistent use makes your skin smooth and baby soft.

Instead of focusing on the areas of your body you like least, accentuate the parts you love. For instance, if you have long, lean legs, pick outfits that show them off. Are your arms your best asset? Try wearing something sleeveless to highlight them. Dress to flatter your body type and you’ll feel more confident.

You can also brighten your under eye area with peppermint tea. Dampen two tea bags and let them chill in the refrigerator for a few hours.
Lie down and place the tea bags under your eyes for 10 minutes. You’ll find the under eye circles are less noticeable and you’ll look refreshed.
